Introduction to the Blog

Hello,

Last year, I decided to express more gratitude to God and to other people. I also wanted to look for the tender mercies of the Lord in my daily life, to find the ways God has a hand in blessing my life from day to day. I started by writing my daily gratitude in a journal. A couple months later I had the inspired idea to make my gratitude public. I felt others could benefit from a daily reminder to be grateful just as it is a blessing to me. This is one way I try to be a blessing in the lives of others. Each day on Facebook, I begin my status with this question: "So, what am I grateful for today?" Then, I answer my own question with my "daily grateful".

Now, I have decided to make a blog of my gratitude. I believe God exists and wants us, His children, to be happy. We all know there is so much about our society and our world that is in need of repair or improvement. Even though there is still much to do, there is much we can be grateful for no matter our circumstances. It is often easy to forget how blessed we are.

So, what am I grateful for today? Today in church I gave a presentation about indexing (a volunteer service to improve family history research). I was nervous as I spoke, but my preparation and prayers paid off. Several people thanked me for my talk and I felt it was a success. I am grateful that it went so well. I am also grateful to be home with a family that loves to listen to each other and talk to each other. :)

P.S.-Most of my posts will be shorter than this first introductory post.
