I remember a sermon I once heard on the topic of developing faith and conviction in the teachings of Jesus Christ. The basic idea was this: You don't have to know everything; you just need to know enough. Enough to help you progress and move forward in your understanding of what is true.
This principle applied to a situation I was in today. I was at a Latin dance with a few friends, and one friend didn't know much about Latin dancing. I didn't know much beyond the basics, but I figured it would be enough for both of us to enjoy the party. Once my friend started to get the hang of it, we had a lot of fun dancing and watching others dance. I didn't know everything or even a lot about Latin dancing, but I knew enough to enjoy it and to help other people enjoy it. I am grateful for what I know (about dancing as well as in general) because it has always helped me move forward and improve myself.
