I don't think that children (or emerging adults) should get everything they think they are entitled to. But, there is at least one form of entitlement that I do believe in:
"Children are entitled to birth within the bonds of matrimony, and to be
reared by a father and a mother who honor marital vows with complete
fidelity."
How would the world change for the better if there were many more families that could (or would) follow that traditional formula: children raised by parents who love them and who truly love each other? Children deserve that. The world deserves that. Institutions are working very hard to help people improve their situations, but the need is too great. There are too many people who had a less-than-ideal home, and in so many cases it isn't their fault.
I do consider myself extremely fortunate to have the family that I do, and I am grateful for that. I believe that apart from finding opportunities to help the needy around me, one of the best things I can do in this life is to do my best in establishing a wonderful family of my own in the future.
