Are you familiar with the feeling of delivering a tremendously good pun at the right time? Well, after a friend nearly tripped on a power cord, I put in a "plug" for electrical cord safety. Another friend's response: "That is the worst pun I've ever heard!"
It was the greatest compliment I have ever received in my pun exploits.
I am grateful for a terrible compliment. :)
