Pineapple

Who would have thought that pineapple could go so well as a staple ingredient for so many things? I participated in a small Iron Chef competition with friends tonight, and the secret ingredient was canned pineapple. The three groups made a variety of foods: a yummy smoothie (we also cooked bacon and dipped the bacon in the smoothie), pineapple fondue (it was meant to be pineapple fudge but it didn't harden in time), and pineapple served with chicken and rice. It made for a fabulously impressive meal, by college student standards! I am grateful for pineapple.
